Notes to applicant
Please submit your scholarship application via email during Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period.

  1. All scholarship applications and supporting documents must be submitted to the following address on or before 30 June 2020.

    i) By sending FORMAL email request to , or
    ii) By downloading the Application Form (in pdf format) from the Application form on the left menu.

  2. Applicants are required to submit a fully completed application form ensuring the correctness of the following required information
    • Personal Particulars
    • Educational Background
    • Information on course Applied / Current Course
    • Parents / Guardians Particulars
    • Siblings Particulars
    • Other Scholarship applied
    Incomplete applications will be rejected.

  3. Applicants are also required to attach a personal hand written write-up of approximately 100 words about:
    • Applicant and his/her family
    • Why applicant require this scholarship
    • Why applicant chose the course applied for

  4. Applicants must submit the following supporting documents:
    • Passport-sized photograph not more than 6 months old and copy of MyKad
    • Education certificates (SPM, STPM / A-Level and/or Diploma certificates, university acceptance / offer letter, latest CGPA, etc)
    • Applicant’s co-curricular / extra-curricular activities, achievements and certificate
    • Parent’s / Guardian’s income tax B/BE Form / EA form / payslip / pension card / Parent’s death certificate
    • Sibling’s income tax form / EA form / payslip (if working).

  5. Please write “Scholarship Application” on the top left hand corner of the envelope.

  6. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified via telephone/email for an interview. Please ensure your telephone number/email is accurate and contactable.

  7. The short-listed applicants must bring along original certificates during the interview.

Other Terms & Conditions FAQs:

  1. Do I need to be accepted by a university before apply?
    No, applicants who are awaiting admission/acceptance to a university may also apply as scholarships will be awarded once applicants have gained acceptance to the university.

  2. What are the universities/colleges accepted by Yu Chee Hoe and Lee Kwan Charitable Trust?
    Local public or private universities in Malaysia

  3. Am I allowed to switch my area of study during the course while receiving a scholarship from YCH-LK Charitable Trust?

  4. Can I accept additional financial aid from other organizations after I have been awarded the Yu Chee Hoe and Lee Kwan Charitable Trust scholarship?
    The Trust is to be informed of such additional aid and permission may be granted on case to case basis. If you fail to inform, the scholarship shall be withdrawn.

  5. How does the Trust disburses the scholarship to the 1st year, 2nd year student and so on?
    We will directly bank-in the tuition fees to the university each semester but limited to RM20,000 per academic year, any balance will be banked into your personal bank account at the end of the academic year.

  6. Is there any bond and for how long?

  7. Do I need to apply to the Trust for the continuation of the scholarship after I completed my first academic year of studies ? What will happen if I fail to achieve the minimum CGPA 3.00 per academic year or do not complete the course?
    i) You are required to submit your academic results and a letter of testimonial from the university on your academic and personal achievement at the end of every academic year for the continuation of the scholarship.
    ii) If you fail to achieve the minimum CGPA 3.00, the Trust reserves the right to review your status and stop the disbursement at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.
    iii) The disbursement of your scholarship shall cease immediately upon confirmation in the event that you dropped out from your course.

  8. When can I check my application status?
    You will be notified by telephone call/email followed by letter of scholarship award after attended the interview. Therefore, please ensure that all contact details provided in the application form are accurate. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by written letter.
